Elaine Ewart is a poet and nature writer, living in Ely. In 2012 she was appointed the inaugural Fenland Poet Laureate. She now co-organizes the monthly spoken work open mic night Fen Speak and the Fenland Poet Laureate Awards, and has been longlisted for the New Welsh Writing Awards 2015.
Poppy Kleiser is the Fenland Poet Laureate for 2014. Influenced by folk song and the radicalism of 18th century Romantic literature, she attempts through both written and spoken word to explore the secrets of the strange and haunting place she lives. She has performed widely; from festivals to exhibitions and shows about land rights history.
Leanne Moden was Fenland Poet Laureate in 2013. She has performed at events around the UK, including the Aldeburgh Poetry Festival, Bestival, and the Hammer and Tongue Slam Final. Her pamphlet ‘Liaisons’ was published by Stewed Rhubarb in 2015, and she co-runs the ‘Fen Speak’ open mic nights in Cambridgeshire. She blogs at www.tenyearstime.blogspot.co.uk.
