Chris Baughan is 23 and from North Yorkshire. He has just finished a teacher training course in Hull and is about to start a teaching job in Jersey. Although he unveils his father in this poem, in reality he is his unrivaled hero.

Hell’s Island




Bob Beagrie lives in Middlesbrough. Recent publications: Yoik (Cinnamon Press 2008) The Seer Sung Husband (Smokestack Press 2010), Glass Characters (Red Squirrel Press 2011), KIDS (Mudfog 2012). His work has appeared in numerous anthologies and magazines and translated into Finnish, Dutch, Portuguese, Spanish, Karelian, Estonian and Swedish. He is a senior lecturer at Teesside University.
